empower: abilities hosts successful second annual open house

empower: abilities, the disability experts for Southwest Missouri, hosted a highly successful second annual holiday open house on December 1 at center located at 1450 W Cambridge St, Springfield, MO 65807.The event took place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 165 individuals and families were eager to explore the various services offered by the organization. empower: abilities extends their heartfelt gratitude to The Convoy of Hope for their invaluable support, which enabled those at the center to bring joy and relief to so many in need. 

The expo featured informative tables set up by each department, allowing visitors to learn more about empower: abilities' range of services. From healthcare assistance to community outreach programs, attendees had the opportunity to engage with knowledgeable staff and gain valuable insights into the organization's offerings. In the spirit of giving back to the community, empower: abilities distributed free donations of household items and toys to attendees.

empower: abilities made a profound impact by eliminating barriers and empowering independent living through the generous donation of a perfectly sized pediatric wheelchair to a young girl during the event.

As part of our commitment to civic engagement, the open house also included a booth where visitors could register to vote. empower: abilities values active participation in the democratic process and aims to empower all people with and without disabilities to exercise the right to vote.

empower: abilities’ December 1 holiday open house not only fulfilled its objective of informing the community about the center’s many service options but also showcased the organization's dedication to community service and civic involvement.
