October15 is White Cane Safety Day and empower: abilities is hosting a White Cane Walk to promote pedestrian safety and raise awareness about blind and visually impaired pedestrians. ย AM Coffee and Donuts Food Truck will be selling food across the street at the Arc of the Ozarks beginning at 8 am. Enjoy a hot coffee and donut before the event begins.
The event will begin with a proclamation from the Mayor, followed by guest speakers. The walk will begin at 10 am and take approximately 30-45 minutes, about half a mile. The walk will take place along a route just south of our building and on the sidewalks of Battlefield Road. We will be crossing the street with safety assistance.
Afterwards, we are offering a quick tour of our Center to explore what services we provide for those who are blind and visually impaired.
